What Brought You to ARCO?
I heard about ARCO from a teaching assistant of mine and decided to look into the company before the career fair. I learned to enjoy the atmosphere of the workplace, and I admire the hard work and integrity of the ARCO team.
What is a Typical Day Like for an ARCO Co-Op?
Typically, I start out my day by checking my email, voicemail, and calendar to organize and update my to-do list. I always meet up with my project manager mentors to see if there are any tasks I can help them with. These tasks are usually doing takeoffs, writing bid instructions, calling subcontractors, editing drawings, attending a meeting, or maybe going on a job site visit. The project managers take the time to sit down with you and explain aspects of the job you may not understand, so you are always learning and improving your knowledge.
What is the Best Advice You Have Ever Received?
No act of kindness is ever wasted.
If You Could Give Advice to Future Co-Ops, What Would it Be?
My advice would be to stay focused and listen carefully because every day at ARCO is a learning opportunity. Also, communicating with your project manager mentors is important so that everything you are assigned from them is clear and organized.
What is On Your Bucket List?
I would love to ski on at least 10 different mountains in Colorado.
