ARCO Construction was selected as one of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Top Workplaces for the fourth year in a row, thanks to positive feedback from our associates on Workplace Dynamics‘ annual survey. ARCO ranked eighth in the small businesses category. ARCO also achieved this distinction in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Exceptional Benefits, Workplace Culture
ARCO attributes its associate satisfaction to its ‘work hard, play hard’ workplace culture, exceptional benefits program and its merit-based incentive structure. Some of our outstanding benefits include: a one-month paid Sabbatical every five years with an up to $5,000 travel allowance, a generous bonus program to incentivize exceptional work and service to clients, tuition assistance for associates to pursue additional degrees or certifications, a scholarship program for college-aged children of our associates, one-week leave to volunteer at a charity of our associates’ choice, charity match program, fitness membership discounts at local gyms, complimentary fruit and snacks stocked in our break room and monthly company lunches & other associate events. ARCO also owns a ranch just outside of the metro St. Louis area that associates and their families can reserve for weekend getaways at no cost.
How Top Workplaces are Determined
A number of local companies, nonprofit groups and government agencies agreed to participate in the survey, which was distributed earlier in the year by Pennsylvania-based survey firm, Workplace Dynamics. The short questionnaire included statements that asked associates to rate their workplace on a seven-point scale from “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree.” Employee participation in the survey was voluntary and confidential. Workplace Dynamics ranked the companies with the highest scores in three categories, determined by the number of local employees at each company.
