Centene Community Ice Center Story of a Deal

The Centene Community Ice Center project was over five years in the making, with countless design meetings resulting in 4-sheet Ice Rink facility that now calls Maryland Heights home. From beginning of construction, breaking ground in August of 2018 to the Stanley Cup Win in June of 2019, the outdoor ice rink completion, and full project completion project for Spring of 2020, the blood sweat and tears that ARCO invested into this project was worth the community impact of bringing hockey to the heartland. Through numerous weather delays, to pulling off the Grand-Opening in September, the ARCO team has persevered to make this dream a reality.

“This outstanding Ice Center is a state-of-the art complex of a scale and quality un-matched in our region or well beyond. ‘The place’ where St. Louis kids come to participate in ice sports, is also a destination for regional, national, and international sporting events. There is no comparable facility within 500 miles.” (St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation) The 275,000 SF Ice rink facility houses the St. Louis Blues, the Lindenwood Lions (Men’s & Women’s) Hockey Teams, the St. Louis Lady Blues, St. Louis Lady Cyclones, and the St. Louis AAA Blues teams, and others.

ARCO is thrilled to have been chosen for this project and we are excited to witness the community impact that the Centene Community Ice Center will have for generations to come.
