Several ARCO associates recently participated in a charity golf tournament for R3 Development in St. Louis, MO. Total, ARCO associates raised $690, and with ARCO’s donation match program, associates were able to raise $1,380 for the R3 Development program.
R3 Development is a unique not-for-profit organization that offers the under resourced youth of east St. Louis job opportunities that equip them with resources and skills for future success. “We specialize in creating programs and ecosystems that improve economic futures for the youth of East St. Louis. We do this through social enterprise efforts that include rehabbing homes in the East St. Louis area. Through partnership as well as donations from private individuals and organizations, we are able to recruit, train, and employ East St. Louis youth while providing leadership development programs. Our programs use best practices that are evidence-based.” (R3 Development)
R3’s vision is to restore east St. Louis to the “City of Champions” it once was known as. In doing so, R3 strives to change the narrative of the violence and crime in the community and transform it one individual at a time. R3 gives teens the opportunity for employment, but furthermore, this charity gives them the experiences that allows them to find their strengths and passions.
Many of our ARCO associates are already actively serving a wide range of charity organizations in the St. Louis area. From being an ongoing volunteer, event participant, board member or contribution maker, our associates are making a difference in the St. Louis community. ARCO strives to support causes and organizations that are near and dear to its associates’ hearts. The company offers a charity donation match program and a week paid leave for associates to participate in a charity event of choice.
ARCO is thrilled to have been able to participate in the charity golf tournament to play for a cause. We admire the work that R3 Development is doing to engage the youth of east St. Louis to help them find their passions and follow their dreams.
