FlightSafety International

Designed and built for FlightSafety International, this project is a 20,000 SF flight training facility expansion and renovation.

This project consists of an approximately 20,000 SF, two-story building expansion and an approximately 10,000 SF interior renovation, resulting in a 65,000 SF airline training facility. The expansion was designed to enhance flight attendant training capabilities while modernizing existing instructional and support spaces.

A key component of the expansion is an indoor training pool engineered to support emergency flight attendant instruction, including aircraft emergency exits, water rescue procedures, life raft deployment, and helicopter water rescue training. The facility also includes a full-size cabin trainer device, providing a realistic environment for hands-on cabin safety and service training. Additional program space includes seven new classrooms, offices, conference rooms, and an IT room, along with dedicated instructor facilities featuring a private lounge and conference area.

The renovation modernized the existing facility with a fully renovated entrance lobby, customer support area, offices, conference rooms, restrooms, and café/breakroom. Building systems are integrated through a building management system incorporating energy management, lighting controls, access control, video surveillance, and communications systems to improve operational efficiency and facility security. The project also included a complete replacement of the existing roof system, enhancing long-term building performance and weather protection. Together, the expansion and renovation deliver a modern aviation training environment capable of supporting advanced classroom instruction, simulation, and emergency response training.
