FlightSafety International

FLIGHT TRAINING FACILITY IN ST. LOUIS, MO

Designed and built for FlightSafety International, this project is a 80,000 SF flight training facility.

This project consists of an approximately 80,000 SF airline pilot training facility designed to support advanced commercial aviation instruction and simulation. The building is equipped to house nine full-flight simulators, along with supporting classrooms, offices, computer rooms, and training support spaces, creating a comprehensive environment for pilot education and recurrent training.

The three-story facility is constructed using tilt-up concrete panels and features a high-performance Visionwall window system, providing durability, energy efficiency, and enhanced building performance. Mission-critical spaces include isolated computer and server rooms with access flooring and secure data transmission infrastructure, supporting the specialized technology requirements of flight simulation equipment.

Building systems are fully integrated through a building management system that includes energy management, lighting controls, access control, video surveillance, and communications systems. Additional critical infrastructure includes a breathable air system, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system, lost phase protection, and occupancy sensor lighting controls to support reliable facility operation and equipment performance. Electrical infrastructure includes a 4,000-amp, 277/480-volt electrical service, providing the capacity required for high-demand simulation equipment and building systems. The facility was engineered to deliver a secure, technology-driven training environment with the infrastructure necessary to support continuous aviation operations.
