Happy 10th ARCOversary, Todd Ellmo!

Congratulations to ARCO Construction Superintendent Todd Ellmo on his incredible 10 year ARCO anniversary! Some notable projects Todd has been part of include Vande East, Woodward Lofts, Ovation at Sienna Hills and Provision Living in Lexington. Additionally, Todd was recognized in 2019 by the American Red Cross with their distinguished Life-Saver Award for springing into action and performing CPR on a colleague.

We caught up with Todd on some of his favorite memories over the last 10 years, a few words of wisdom for other Superintendents and his plans for the future. Please join us in congratulating Todd on this incredible milestone!

What’s your favorite part of working for ARCO? The great people and family-like culture.

What’s your favorite ARCO memory? My first sabbatical, when I went to England, Scotland and Ireland.

What’s your proudest accomplishment in your career so far? Working on the Vande East apartment project – the first mid-rise (14 story) structural concrete building ARCO Construction has worked on.

What’s one lesson learned you’d want to pass on to fellow associates? Don’t be afraid to reach out for help when needed. ARCO is full of highly qualified associates, and you can pretty much be assured someone else has the expertise and knowledge to solve most problems.

Do you have a professional role model? If so, who? My dad. Throughout life, he has taught me to treat others with respect and be kind.

What ARCO value is the most important for a Superintendent? “Treat people fairly and do the right thing.” Most of a Superintendent’s day includes working with subcontractors and tradespeople. Treating members of the project team fairly and with respect will serve you well.

Do you have any big sabbatical plans in 2024 to celebrate? Most likely Italy.
